One of the keys to success both as a writer and as a student is being a part of a community. With all the writing assignments at Pacific Oaks, it is helpful to know that there are others who are also working on their writing and may even have some writing struggles. Being a part of a writing support group or a study group will help one's growth as a writer and as a student.
The writing support groups with the CARE Learning Center are low-stakes spaces where students can discuss where they are at with their writing or studying and the assignments they are working on. Students are encouraged to discuss topics related to writing or studying, share their experiences, and connect with the CARE Learning Center as well as other students.
Writing support groups are currently on hiatus. Please reach out to the CARE Learning Center for tips and strategies if you are interested in starting your own writing support group.
Instructor notifications
Notifications: Students can request that the CARE Learning Center notify their instructors that they utilized CARE Learning Center services. This includes workshop and writing support group attendance. Students must email their request to [email protected] with the instructor's name, email, and a short message giving permission to notify the instructor of the student's use of CARE Learning Center services. Once the CARE Learning Center has received the email granting permission to share the student's information, the instructor will be notified of the student's use of CARE Learning Center services.
